Vetsouvanh "V" Thongrivong earned her Bachelors Degree in Apparel Design at the Art Institute of Portland. As a first generation Laotian American with a background on theater arts, V likes to bring drama to her clothing and incorporate some of her culture in the designs. She believes that every person is unique and each piece of clothing should speak for the person.

If you always try to be normal,
you’ll never know how
amazing you can be.
— Maya Angelou

V relocated to Portland in 2011 to attend school at the Art Institute of Portland. While pursuing her degree, V works full time as a retail buyer and assistant store manager for Spartacus Enterprises. She uses the skills that she learned in school and applies it to her work on a daily basis to create buying and merchandising plans for Spartacus. When V is not working, she can either be found outdoors or volunteering.

As a Host Committee Member for Ignite and regular volunteer at Basic Rights Oregon, V spends her free time giving back to the community through advocacy. She hopes that through fashion and advocacy, she can inspire those around her to keep reaching for their goals and never give up on their dreams.
